i wouldn’t call it ‘the game of all time’ or ‘the best game on facebook’ but i would call it addicting.
ughhh i know, i knowww, i knowwww ALREADY!! it’s just an online farming game. but- come on people. why so jaded? how is it that a game, with cyber farming- grass growing- crops dying- money making, all interactive is quote-on-quote “LAME?!”
lame? lame you say? i’ll give you lame..
lame is when there wasn’t an internet. lame is when the games you played were in black and white.
lame is your nokia 3390 without the flashing light cases.
THAT MY FRIEND, IS LAME.
farmville is no where close to lame.
so, it is, i will admit, a way to waste your time online.
but if you look at it in an educators aspect- it’s a game that is teaching patience, the value of money and the fundamentals of agriculture.
so there.
i guess i started out playing it just to pass time when i was downloading music.
and then i got addicted. i started making a lot of gold and planting cooler things.
then they get you. they show you cooler items to obtain, and those cooler items are ‘locked’ until you reach a higher level.
higher level? yes. yes my friend, higer levels.
you compete again your ‘neighbors’ who are other people in your FB friends list. they can see and help you on your farm, and it becomes a game of– who can have a cooler, bigger, radder farm.
THEN COMES THE MONEY.
i won’t say who- but a boy i know via FB admitted to me that he actually spent REAL money on pretend, internet gold.
i had asked him to tell me how to get as advanced in the game as he was in such a short period of time, and he then told me about his obsession of being ‘better than me’ in farmville. while this whole thing was happening i didn’t know i was in some make believe ‘competition’ manifested from his own lack of whatever in life he has to prove. ANYHOW, as sad of a story as his… he- is- lame. not the game.
