Nendoroid Saber Lily d(ˆ⌂ˆ)b
My long awaited Nendoroid Saber Lily arrives at my doorstep from HobbySearch! To celebrate the occasion I decide to write a small review about this awesome Nendoroid by Good Smile Company. This isn’t my first Nendoroid purchase as you will see in some photos later on, but this has got to be my favorite ones so far…
Packaging
The box came in through the mail in pristine condition, no dings or scratches, and it’s the standard Nendoroid packaging which gives you a nice sneak peek at what the figure looks like.
The back of the box features Saber Lily in a variety of poses holding the different accessories.
Contents
The Nendoroid Saber Lily comes with the base figure itself, pretty sweet. Two swords for Saber Lily to look cool. Two cool looking scabbards to put the cool looking swords in when Saber Lily needs a break from swinging them around. Two extra faces, one looking slightly happier than the original and one slightly more annoyed looking. One bent left leg for a little more dynamic flare in the posing possibilites. Two extra hands with holes, so Saber Lily can hold more than one cool looking sword I suppose. Three extra arms which are slightly different from each other (one of them has a little peg where you can fit the scabbard on). Lastly, a clear base so Saber Lily can stand upright.
Figure Shots
The figure itself is nicely detailed, I think out of all the ones I have, this is the most detailed one so far. My intial reaction when I first saw the images of her on the net, I was mesmerized by the armor. I like things with detail and this was one of the main factors for pre-ordering it right away. I’ll admit, I only know Saber from Fate/Stay Night, so I don’t really follow the series that much so my knowledge of Saber Lily is quite low. As a collector though, I couldn’t pass up this Nendoroid because… just look at her, she looks awesome!
This Nendoroid comes with a new base I have never seen before and it seems to be made specifically for Saber Lily. Instead of the previous giant awful waist clamps, you get a single piece that fits snuggly under her armor/dress and is securely held with grooves that the legs fit in. As you can see from the side, the feet isn’t planted on the ground, so she’s in a constant tippy toe. I really don’t mind because of how stable it is with the new base.
With the new base, even the back is clearly visible now, A+ to the person who came up with the base!

I really like this Nendoroid, it’s got lots of great detail in the armor and accessories. It’s got quite a few accessories as well including arm and hand options. Most importantly though has to be the base support. I don’t usually like having clunky ugly bases on any of my figures, but the one that Saber Lily sits on is quite special. It’s strong, small, and not intrusive to the figure itself which is a big plus.
Dislikes
So it seems I really like this figure…a lot. Nendoroid Saber Lily does have its flaws. Most of the time, the different expressions that come with a Nendoroid are quite different from each other. Saber Lily’s extra expressions are quite subtle and not very noticable until you really look at it. The base, as much praising as I did, also has a flaw. The pre-defined leg grooves on the support is very limiting to the poses you can do. The support really gets in the way of the bent leg and makes posing using that leg really limiting.
The bent leg makes the pose tilt… though it sorta works in this picture.
Notes
This is a great addition to anyone’s colleciton, especially collectors of Nendoroids. I recommend it to anyone!
Welcome to the family Saber Lily!
Score
4 out of 5 – This figure has its qualities and flaws, but the flaws are only minor and has nothing to do with the quality of the figure itself. I still can’t get my mind off the new base support…
Yoko’s getting mad because she’s not my favorite anymore, RUN FOR IT!
